This EX-01 sensor is applied to kids. The plate is encased in a flexible plastic barrier sheath before intraoral placement behind the region of interest to maintain sterile technique. The positioning can be direct hand-held or via beam-alignment devices.
Dental X-ray sensors work in conjunction with a dental X-ray machine to capture high-resolution digital images of a patient’s teeth and surrounding structures. When the X-ray machine emits radiation, the sensor detects and converts the X-rays into digital signals. The system then processes these signals into clear, detailed images on a computer screen. This technology allows dentists to quickly diagnose cavities, bone loss, infections, and other dental issues with greater accuracy. Compared to traditional film X-rays, dental X-ray sensors provide faster results, reduce radiation exposure, and enhance workflow efficiency in dental clinics.

Technology : dental x ray sensors use a thin panel of photosensors, which directly capture 2D grayscale X-ray images. Compared to traditional X-ray film which required developing, sensors provide instant digital images for viewing and storage.
Design and Placement: The dentist or assistant wraps the thin sensor panel in a sanitary sheath and positions it inside the mouth behind the tooth area being imaged.
They hold it by hand or use a positioning device. Some sensors are rigid panels while others use flexible, wired panels.
Image Acquisition: Dental sensors connect via thin cables to a docking unit, interfacing with practice management and imaging software on a computer workstation. The system sets the exposure parameters before briefly pulsing the X-ray source to capture a precise image with the sensor.
Image Quality: Sensors offer excellent image clarity and grayscale contrast for detailed analysis, often superior over film. Direct digital capture eliminates film processing artifacts and multiple retakes caused by improper exposures or technical errors.
Infection Control: Dentists always protect dental sensors with disposable barrier sheaths and discard them between patient.
Some sensors have a seamless, crevice-free design to further reduce bio burden and aid in effective surface disinfection.
